Nutritious Oat Waffles

These nutritious waffles are sure to be a breakfast scene stealer! This recipe makes a wholesome and hearty waffle that looks just as delicious as it tastes. Their crispy and golden brown outside is complimented by a soft and fluffy center. I could not get over just how amazing these waffles were this morning. I hope you all try these out and let me know how you like them. Let's get cooking!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup quick cooking oats

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon raw local honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Water

  • Measuring cups and spoons

  • A blender of some kind

  • A waffle maker

Directions:

  1. Measure out all of the ingredients, except the water, and putting them into the blender. Add water into the mixture until the top is barely covered.

  2. Blend until the batter is nice and thin.

  3. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes so that the oats have a chance to soak up the water and become thicker.

  4. While the batter rests, start heating up the waffle maker. I have a Krups waffle maker that makes two square waffles.

  5. After the 10 minutes is up, pour the batter into the waffle maker and close the lid. Cook for about 7-8 minutes. The waffles should look golden brown and crispy.

I love to serve mine with fresh fruit on the top of them. I had fresh strawberries in my refrigerator so that was what I used for these waffles.

Be sure to share you waffle pictures with me on my Instagram!
